Relational Homeschooling

October 4 | 9:00–10:00 AM | $5

At our recent Rooted gathering, the bonus session on relational homeschooling with Shawna Ketter was such a heartfelt highlight. The response was incredible, and many of us walked away wishing we had more time to soak it all in.

We’re thrilled to invite you back for a special, hour-long session where Shawna will dive deeper into this topic and create space for meaningful discussion and questions.

Shawna will discuss what it looks like to be rooted in relationship with your children as you guide them toward their passions and God-given purposes. We’ll explore how intentional connection can be the foundation for nurturing curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Whether you’re navigating early childhood, adolescence, or the teen years, this message will offer encouragement, tools, and vision for raising kids who are deeply known and inspired to become who they were created to be.

Come join us for this morning of conversation, community, and encouragement. 🌿

Flourishing in Faith — A Winter Gathering

Wednesday, December 4, 2025
Cause Coffee, DeSoto, KS

Join us for our winter event, Flourishing in Faith! We’ll gather at the cozy Cause Coffee for an evening of encouragement, community, and Christmas cheer. Enjoy a warm cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea, along with decadent desserts from our festive dessert bar.

This year, we’re also hosting a Flourish Market with a few of our favorite friends — the perfect chance to do a little Christmas shopping while supporting local makers.

I’m thrilled to welcome two friends as our guest speakers: Leah Blake and Jennifer Gilroy. Both women have a strong faith and a deep love for others that inspire me, and I can’t wait for you to be encouraged by their stories, too.

In the spirit of giving, we are also partnering with On Eagles Wings Farm for a Christmas toy drive. This nonprofit provides a safe and loving home for children who have experienced trauma or separation. Please bring a new toy — something your own child would enjoy — so together we can bless another child this Christmas season.

Come be refreshed, encouraged, and inspired as we celebrate the season together.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Gilroy, and I love Jesus with my whole heart. God was so

kind as to make me a wife to my husband, Scott, and a mother to our three incredible

children (James and Matthew, both 8, and Emily, 7). The Lord called me by name when

I was 27 years old and restored life in me. I love Jesus with everything and love to

share His goodness with the people God puts in my life. I am passionate about serving

where the Lord plants you. Currently, that is serving my family, church, local school,

and community. I love meeting people where they are and sharing who they are in

Christ. I love God’s Word and encouraging women to invest time growing their

relationship with Jesus. Most days, you can find me creating time for our family to be

around the table together, volunteering or substitute teaching at our children’s school,

coaching girls’ basketball or volleyball, refereeing the neighborhood kickball games in

our backyard, or sitting with a friend to pray and share a cup of coffee. I am excited to

meet you.

Leah spends most days enjoying her time as a homeschool mom, growing flowers to share with friends and filling people’s bellies. On good days it’s affectionately known as “Grandma Training.” In May she graduated her first child and this fall her youngest started her first year of school.
After the surprising death of their two sons within nine months of each other, Leah and her husband Dr. Tom Blake moved to Jerusalem with their five year old daughter. A decade later they have three more children who bring a lot of music and laughter to their home. Through the presence of GOD and the shared grief of others they experienced healing and deep awareness of His goodness. Together they seek to help unify the family of Messiah through their ministry, Grafted.
Leah loves creating a place for people to fellowship, believing that good food and passionate worship are important elements for a joy-filled life. With one foot in eternity, she spends a lot of time in intercession for the lost in Israel and the Nations and is grateful for the steadfast love of Jesus.
